Off-Camera Flash

Last night I felt like playing with off-camera flash. I’m completely addicted to it now after watching Strobist a few weeks back. I even thought about investing into some proper lighting stuff such as brolly. Softbox sounds better but perhaps not at the present time. Wait until I mastered like a few talented Malaysian photographers such as Ted Adnan, Syahrin Aziz and a few others, then I shall consider buying them. Furthermore, need to have larger space though. So, for the time being its best to get something light, affordable and portable as well. In fact, you can create so much by just using single flash, provided using correct techniques. It is amazing how photographs can be so different with various lighting techniques. I am not a master nor professional in lighting photography but with online tutorials, experiments, shared information, all these are possible for everybody to create something unusual from ordinary photo we always capture.

I Got Tagged!!

When I first saw comments from a friend of mine Imam, I did not realize that was actually a tag from him. I thought it was just ordinary comments until I read the second one saying that I’ve been tagged!! Hmm, how dare he tags me! Hehe, I’m just joking. To be honest, I never got tagged before so, I’m interested enough to tag people back and also this is my opportunity to get to know and understand clearly what is actually TAG mean, because to be honest I have heard about tagging people everywhere. Even on YouTube they tag each other as well. So now I got tagged and “thank you” very much for tagging me because now I have to sit down and think again what am I going to write about 8 random facts about me. Hmmm… it takes me ages to think about it.

Before that, let me just tell the rules of tagging in a nutshell.

Eight (8) Facts About Me:

1. I cannot work in the office especially sitting in front of a computer for long hours doing same thing over and over (photo editing is exceptional) otherwise, I will fall asleep with my head on the keyboard. I’m not joking. It happened a few times already, haha.
2. I cannot think of any jobs that suit me other than photography. Just give me anything related to photography, I will be happy.
3. I am so indecisive even when it comes to the simplest thing like, “Where are we going to have lunch today?”
4. Yes, I’m a jealous person. I think so… (See, I told you just now. I can’t decide whether or not I’m a jelous person LOL!).
5. I listen to almost every single type of music as long as it doesn’t hurt my ears. I even listen to keroncong songs (a kind of traditional malay music).
6. I’m an Apple fan (but I’m using PC and the moment).
7. I could spend hours just looking at videos on YouTube, unconsciously.
8. When I was in a primary school, I used to hate people or teachers or friends or whoever call me Faris Fakri. Why? I don’t know why. I just hate it. Why they have to call my full name? Why can’t they just call me Faris? (even though my full name Mohd Faris Bin Fakri). Like… “Faris Fakri, where are you going?”, “Can I borrow your pencil Faris Fakri?”, “Have you done your homework Faris Fakri?”. But not anymore. I’m used to it now. And you know what? I just realized while writing this.. even my website’s name Faris Fakri, hahaha.

Lumix

Hey, I just bought a digicam. Now it is so possible for me to make video blog considering it has “video mode” inside. In fact, that’s the main reason I bought it. At least, I don’t have to carry my “bulky” camera everywhere I go. So now instead of taking still photo, I can capture motion pictures as well. Woohoo!

I See Colours

This was taken using 50mm f/1.8, 1/30 at ISO 640 while they were watching tele. I love the blue colour from the tele reflects on his face while an orange colour (the heater light) can be seen in the background creates such a lovely lighting. I’m so mad about lightings nowadays.
